yep! I got an email from our agency last night that they were going to speak to their in-China rep "in a bit" to see what they could find out about our dossier. I didn't sleep much last night worrying we were still in translation which would have meant at least a few more weeks (or way more) until we would get our LOA. She asked me to call her this morning so she could let me know what she found out. I waited not-so-patiently until 9 and called - she was in a meeting. She called back at 9:30 to let me know that she thought she was going to be able to tell me our LOA was on it's way - then she paused...my heart went from woo-hoo to totally just hit an iceberg in a matter of seconds. When she came back with "I'm actually holding it in my hands right now!" I burst into tears - literally, bawling into the phone. Fed Ex will be on my doorstep tomorrow morning!!!
So what next? We will send in our I-800 paperwork so the US can approve us to adopt Presley - I know what some of you are thinking..."didn't you already do that?" um, no - the US approved us to adopt A CHILD from China. Now they have to approve us to adopt a SPECIFIED CHILD. Confused yet? Welcome to International Adoption! Ok, so 800 approval, send it to China, wait for Article 5 - yada, yada...and then finally, travel approval!
Timeline - we are hoping to be in Chicago boarding a flight to Shanghai in early July. Fingers crossed, prayers sent up
